The romance, the one-act, the drama - a perfect blend

This is simply the well-nigh thoroughly enjoyable series I have seen on Television for years in any language. The comedy the romance and the drama are all successfully blended. Love the ongoing comedy well-nigh the differences between North and South Korea - all freshly washed and spot on. Neither side is spared or treated unfairly. The farewells are heartbreaking and the romantic scenes are unforgettable. Many memorable scenes from the motorcycle rescue to his parents business firm. And the tightly constructed exciting story amazingly leaves no holes and has no red herrings while making use of the unique divide that exists in the peninsula. The Korean country side is idyllic and and and then is the magical beauty of Switzerland.

Hyun Bin is platonic as the Northward Korean soldier - can't call back of some other actor who could have been improve and he has some truly standout heroic rescue and romantic scenes. Son Ye Jin is sweetness and pretty and makes her graphic symbol likeable and sympathetic - not annoying at all. Her range is impressive. The supporting characters are sympathetic especially the scoundrel Gu with a heart and seemingly cold fiance Seo Dan. The beautiful bunch of N Korean soldiers are all endearing and the evil and greed in the South Korean family unit members is painfully familiar.

Hollywood hasn't been able to come up up with anything fictional of this standard. The best series are based on true events and people like Narcos. Hollywood serial have been dominated past worthy simply depressing subjects like rape, suicide and racial injustice

You will express mirth cry and but exist completely captivated. I wonder how they can ever top this.

Superb Dear Story and More

With this KDrama, we have a proven team: terrific author, managing director, co-stars, and bandage in a delightful love story but also lots of fun with the captain'south squad, the village ajummas, a really evil bad guy, and jokes and teasing. These charms are combined with the longing for reunification that handles both North and South Koreans with love and respect. And both leads are at their near beautiful and talented. I swear Hyun Bin has never been improve with that serenity, low vocalism, steady optics, and sly smile taking every scene but never dominating. And, of class, Son Ye Jin is wondrous: beautiful, brilliant, touching, and hilarious. This series is a treat.

I hope this is a keeper

Recently, I have been trying so hard to become hooked on another G- drama. All I ask is that they keep the humor fresh and the romance sweet.

In two episodes, I am already drawn in. I now promise that some romance occurs, but the futurity of this drama is nonetheless to exist determined.

The serial follows Ye Ri, a Due south Korean heiress when she accidentally falls into North Korea subsequently a paragliding accident. All because of a tornado that had flying tractors. I laughed when she pointed that out.

I promise Ye Ri has a good character development arc, I would love to encounter her grow. You bet I will continue to watch this. Sign me up, you got a fan.

Crash Landing on My Eye.

"If you give up on waiting, the hurting of loss will kill you. That's why I wait." -Captain Ri.

Well-nigh people who have watched the entire series, love CLOY, which is one of KDrama's finest serial, for some of the post-obit points:

i. The writer, Park Ji-eun, who also gave united states of america "You Who Came from the Star" is one of the best, knowing how to balance drama, comedy, themes, and closure while keeping her audience intrigued and in love with her characters. The manager, Lee Jeong-hyo, who has worked on many series and movies, kept everything focused and carefully paced so that the serial steadily evolved each week.

2. The cast is one of the all-time I've seen with immensely beautiful and talented leads, warm, hilarious village ajummas, and Capt. Ri's delightful squad, dubbed "the ducklings"-all of whom became a family for one some other and for the viewers.

3. Themes varying from the pain of losing family, being abandoned and becoming a street orphan all the way to the belief in a Zen appreciation for patience and waiting, as well kindness, protection, sacrifice, and unconditional love. The themes bulldoze the plot, and the bandage brought everything to life, making us impatient for each weekend to finally curl around and then we can encounter what happens side by side to our beloved characters, whether honey, laughter, danger and heartbreak, nosotros got on that train with them.

four. A not bad story that keeps the reader interested, a love story whose premise was there from the beginning and revealed brilliantly in the steady epilogues. But besides the comedy of the sidekick-and the horror of the bad guy consumed with envy and jealousy that destroys innocence and dazzler, making this the classical struggle between good and evil embraced by every generation since time.

5. The touching, beautiful OST, which many fans have downloaded. The piano piece "Song for My Blood brother" leaves me in tears every time.

half-dozen. A wealthy, beautiful just hurt woman who learns to love herself besides as others, who can be hilarious and sassy, notwithstanding who finds forcefulness in loving and protecting the almost amazing man-Capt. Ri.

seven. A cute human, a pianist who becomes an army officer, a repose philosopher and tomato plant institute caretaker with a "low vocalism"-the kindest man I believe I've ever seen in whatever narrative-who adores the injure woman, knows who she is, finds her, protects her, and loves her no matter what evil, what danger threatens them. Yep, he sounds too good to exist truthful. . . . .but he'south not. The whole earth is in honey with Capt. Ri considering Hyun Bin developed him and made u.s. believe that such a man can be.

Ridiculously Amazing Love Story!!

Alert: Spoilers

What a unique story!! Imagine a rich businesswoman from Southward Korea goes paragliding in her freetime to de-stress and gets caught in a tornado that blows her into N Korea. She gets rescued by a handsome army guy and his rag-tag troop of subordinates (belovedly nicknamed "the ducklings"). The ground forces captain ends up having to rescue her and protect her many times over, and she continuously stymies and befuddles this directly-laced, Joe Friday, "Merely the facts, Ma'am", pragmatic officeholder.

Americans: Get past the ane-inch barriers chosen subtitles and permit the looooong, dramatic pauses to roll off your shoulders (there aren't equally many every bit other Yard shows). The characters are so well written that you will love them all. Fifty-fifty the bad guy played by Homo-Seok Oh is sooooo good at being bad (not to mention a cutie too). You get all yous could e'er desire in an entertaining show with this one. Requite it a whirl!!!

I love Hyun Bin

Anywhere from "Memories of the Alhambra" to extreme similar "Rampant" , "Crash Landing on Yous" is by far more captivating. Anywhere from little hints to Looks of shuttle love gets me on the edge of my seat, but information technology's his emotions that make it so heartbreaking. He really brings so much emotional acting to the scenes and I should accept known watching memories of the Alhambra. But, this has definitely got me hooked. Anybody wants a knight and shining armor with an edge. Korean dramas are much more on spot compared to many and I accept to say the writers went where the love and mystery run into...where no one can go. Give thanks you and I hope to continue watching many more!

Currently watching it a second time and here's why ...

For a KD to portray and pull off the Due north Korean civilization and dialect deserves an award in itself. So many dramas fail to capture the delineation of North korea in the positive sense of things, but this KD does everything in its power to show both the practiced and bad side of the land including the value of belonging in a community. The character evolution of both leads and supporting cast was also incredible to watch given no one outshone ane another, and each grapheme (whether their part was large or pocket-size) had an equal opportunity to tell their life story. Moreover, to unite the two Koreas by plotting a developing romance betwixt two people with completely opposite lives and mantra was a genius idea. The energy and undeniable chemistry yous felt from the screen b/w the two leads is honestly unmatched, and the fact that I cried in most every episode goes to show how big of an impact well-nigh of the scenes had on me to feel the mode I did.

You volition fall in love with the two primary characters - laughter and tears for hours to find hither

This is a dramedy with absurd premisses. Very different from nearly everything else nosotros have seen, even though we lookout our share of Korean movies and shows. The story is good and you lot'd be tempted to binge. But what makes this show shine are the smashing actors - nosotros accept laughed and then much, cried and so much, it is a rare precious stone.

A bit of the acting is likewise much, as should be expected, and a few characters are quite i-dimensional. But information technology all comes together exceptionally well. Stiff recommendation, particularly good to escape the covid-19 crisis and all; immerse in this and fall in love with both main actors and their supporting bandage.

The Joy of Love is in the Journey in this Epic Series!

Alert: Spoilers

I watched "Descendants of the Sun" and wondered if I'd encounter another series that could friction match it. So, I watched "Mr. Sunshine," and thought, "there'due south no manner I'll ever encounter another series like this." Imagine the joy of being incorrect twice! Along comes, "Crash Landing on You lot," which may cease up being my favorite of all of them. It's a toss-up betwixt this and Mr. Sunshine. In short, this is 1 of the best series I've ever seen, and for me, the Korean Dramas I've watched have not disappointed at all as most are character and plot driven. In fact, overall, I've seen amend quality shows out of Korea and Nippon in the terminal several years than I take with American shows.

The writing, and especially, the editing is some of the all-time I've ever seen. The plot is intricately weaved, non using some of the typical cliches and devices equally some shows do when trying to go the two main characters together. In this case, we're given the cute wise lesson on screen: happiness is in the journey. Not the destination.

Seri is a woman who owns her own visitor and is office of an extremely rich family unit. Her earth, despite the coin and success, is cold and empty. She sits lonely in a massive penthouse. She has all of the luxuries that one could ask for. However, she has a family, especially her half-siblings, who are nigh as cutting-throat every bit anyone could imagine. She doesn't realize what is missing in her life until a storm, while para-gliding, blows her beyond the border into North korea.

Ri Jeong-Hyeok is a North Korean captain who comes beyond Seri. At first, he and his unit of men aren't sure who Seri is and why she'southward there. Ri Jeong-Hyeok was a primary pianist earlier joining the military, and intent on solving the mystery of his older brother'southward death. At offset, he seems very straight-forward and unassuming, while underneath is a human total of life, passion, and beloved.

The first prepare of episodes of Seri trying to adjust to life in a North Korean hamlet are especially hilarious. Imagine a pampered woman suddenly having to become without electricity? How to have a bath...how to cook, etc. As a onetime Peace Corps volunteer, I know full well what this adaptation feels like!

Peradventure for the offset time in her life, Seri not only finds a connection with Ri Jeong-Hyeok, but also with the village women and also with the members of Ri Jeong-Hyeok'south unit of measurement. It'southward ironic that she had to cross the edge to find a group of people who were more than like family for her than her real family back home!

The all-time plots are ones that aren't forced or contrived, and this one doesn't use either one. Nosotros are taken effortlessly from North Korea into Due south Korea as Seri and Ri Jeong-Hyeok notice themselves at the center of ii sinister plots, each one contrived by people on either side (North and South Korea).

Of course, the biggest question is: despite the situations they must survive and unravel, can they spend a life together? Is it feasible for two people, from the only divided country in the world, be able to have a human relationship? North Korea might as well be the darkside of the moon, as communications betwixt the people of the ii countries is non-existent. Finding the reply to this question is the dazzler of the journey of this series.

The entire cast is simply terrific. They meticulously and effortlessly requite u.s. endearing characters who are absolutely hilarious at times and heartfelt at others. All are likewise able to deftly convey a range of emotions, peculiarly the 2 leads in Hyun Bin and Ye-Jin Shortly whose chemistry is much of what makes this series and then incredible.

The editing is some of the all-time I've always seen in a pic or series equally nosotros are given scenes in one episode, only to realize that we were only given a partial wait at the whole. Each time, we are given a blithesome surprise and many, "Ah-ha" moments when we realize what really happened!

Evidently Due north Korean defectors served as consultants on this series to try and make life in Northward Korea depicted as accurately every bit possible.

Some might feel that the ending isn't the most ideal, but that's why I like it. It's realistic. They cease up making the absolute nearly of the time that they have. These contrived, formulaic "happy endings" just practice non reflect life or relationships themselves.

I have been watching movies and television series for over 45 years, and frankly, this serial absolutely blew me away. Information technology captured my imagination and my heart as I run into a veritable "Romeo and Juliet" struggling to find ways to connect, love, and protect each other. They are such a brusque distance away from each other across the border, only as I stated earlier, the altitude might as well be from the globe to the moon. I dear stories about relationships, where the 2 people accept to find a fashion to overcome the obstacles and pitfalls laid out before them. Two people with enough love and determination will ever find a way. And that is why the joy of watching this series is in the journey and not the destination! And this journey was only sweetness, magical, and joyful. What more could you enquire for in a keen serial?

Will touch the deepest office of your soul!

"Fifty-fifty if information technology breaks my heart considering information technology's a dream that can't come true, I'd like to sincerely dream of the future."

I finished this Drama an hour ago and I am all the same just sitting here, not knowing what to practise,...or to write, for that affair. I am floored. My middle aches. I am happy and lamentable and amazed and grateful to accept been able to watch this masterpiece. I honestly don't know where to begin. My heart is so total.

"Crash Landing On You" is a principal class in screenwriting. The pacing, the revelations through flashbacks and unlinear storytelling, the perfect balance between tragedy, romance and humor,...and God, the characters!

How is information technology possible to make each and every graphic symbol of such a big ensemble so complex, relatable and loveable? I was so attached to every single character, that at some point I basically cried through unabridged episodes, because even when in that location were happy scenes, I kept thinking that things would probably not stay similar that for all my poor babies. At whatever given time, while watching Cloy, I just had to think of the whole South Korea - North korea predicament that they are all in and the tears started flowing.

The scenes between Jung Hyuk and Se Ri are so raw and real that I often cried, as well. They say crying doesn't necessarily hateful you're sad, it just ways yous are overwhelmed with emotion - no matter which emotion. And that's exactly how I felt. I was so overwhelmed that I cried when it was sad, romantic and funny.

I cried buckets and buckets of tears simply I also laughed and then hard that my stomach was sore the side by side day. There are so many funny moments in both, North and South Korea, just I think my favorite was Se Ri'southward department shop opening. I virtually died laughing.

Every bit an aspiring screenwriter and filmmaker, I am deeply humbled past the masterful stroytelling and breathtaking cinematography. At that place are so many gorgeous settings, such as all the snow scenes, the night of the train break-downward and all the scenes in Switzerland.

I am Swiss and I've never seen Switzerland portrayed so beautifully. It fabricated me autumn in love with my own state, again. It was foreign to run across the tram I take every calendar week in a M-Drama. It was strange to encounter the place I spent vacations equally a child. It was foreign to see the sights I walk by every day, and have them shown in a new calorie-free, looking at them through the eyes of these characters to whom Switzerland represents happiness and their own little paradise. Somehow, seeing some of these incredibly emotional scenes against the Swiss properties, made them even more emotional for me.

I tin can't mention the Switzerland scenes without mentioning how perfect the OST is, especially "The Song For My Brother", "Flower", "Sunset, "Here I Am Again", "The Colina of Yearning" and "Photograph of My Heed", which are the perfect musical expression of the Drama's temper and emotions.

Last but not to the lowest degree, the acting is brilliant! I've loved Hyun Bin ever since "A Millionaire's Get-go Love", and his on-screen chemistry with Son Ye Jin is out of this world. I am also very happy to take been introduced to Kim Jung Hyun, Lee Shin Young and Seo Ji Hye through this Drama.

This drama touched the deepest parts of my soul and will forever stay with me!

A Fated "Love-Across-Borders" Story

If y'all have been frustrated by all the contempo K-dramas that have been marketed as "romance" films just considering they include some romantic content, I am pleased to report that this ane is the genuine article. Yes, the plot is peppered with lots of suspense, action & comedy as well, but those elements always remain peripheral to the unfolding love story.

Bated from being technically polished, this show also boasts a great (if understated) script and cast who were respectively endearing or despicable (depending on their roles). I also loved the layered backstories, deep friendships and various inter-dynamics among the characters. Plus, despite some bittersweet moments, the unconventional ending was happy and hopeful.

And although this IS a romance moving picture, I only have to say: THE COMEDY!!! Unlike many K-dramas which might go a chuckle from me with slapstick moments or exaggerated expressions, the humor in this show comes from hilarious culture-related misunderstandings, misinterpretations, shocks and awkwardness that left me in stitches. I nearly woke my kids upwardly a few times because I couldn't terminate laughing! And that gaming scene with the "Memories of the Alhambra" Easter egg nearly killed me. :D

Of form there were some weak points. In particular, I thought many of the hand-to-hand combat scenes seemed a bit unrealistic and looked too rehearsed. There were as well a number of scenes that were overly melodramatic, poorly executed or only outright impossible (the tandem paragliding scene, for case). But because that this show is apparently meant to be a departure from reality, I can't really count these bug equally faults. No movie can do everything perfectly, right?

In summary, if you like K-drama, are looking for a romance story that will make you express mirth out loud, cry a piffling, and you don't mind having to continually suspend your disbelief, you should requite this 1 a try. Highly recommended!

ROMANCE RATING: 8.5/ten I idea Hyun Bin & Son YeJin had conceivable chemistry and they shared 5+ kiss scenes (very generous by K-drama standards!) The more serious kisses were also quite long, and fell somewhere betwixt PG-13 & NC-17 for passion level. To be totally honest, I felt both Hyun Bin & Son YeJin's performances in this film were a bit besides understated for my personal taste, merely they yet delivered when it came to the romantic parts, so it'south all proficient! :)

Solid Aureate Classic

What can I say about Crash Landing on You that hasn't been said already? For starters this drama belongs to the Premier Partitioning of chiliad drama IMO, in line with Underground Garden, Y'all Who Came From the Stars, Legend of the Blueish Sea. Not entirely coincidental these dramas were aided by respectively the same actor, Hyun Bin, and the same screen writer, Park Ji Eun. The question remains: what's then good most it? I recollect it is the right mix of story, actors & music.

The Story

Crash Landing on You combines many proven genres that capture a worldwide audience from the start: action, romance, comedy, drama, tragedy, business, rags & riches. Moreover information technology is meticulously written according to the golden rules of screen writing: one. Utilize the time of your audience in such a way that they will not feel their time was wasted two. Give people at least i character to root for 3. Every character should want something, even if it is but a drinking glass of h2o four. Every minute must either reveal more of a character or accelerate the action 5. Start every bit close to the cease as possible 6. Be a sadist. No thing how sugariness your characters, make atrocious things happen to them to show what they are made of 7. Don't try to please the whole world, this merely weakens your storyline eight. Requite your audience as much information as possible in guild to stay hooked. The storytelling is also rock solid: male child meets girl - they get into problem - things go from bad to worse - there is a closure but at the same fourth dimension it keeps usa from knowing if new developments are good or bad, hoping for a sequel.

The Actors

Fifty-fifty well written stories are made or broken by the bandage. In this example the acting of each and everyone was on point. I can't imagine any other actor playing the lead than Hyun Bin (the stern and sturdy North Korean army officer Ri Jung Hyuk) and Son Ye Jin (the sophisticated South Korean chaebol heiress Yoon Se Ri). Also the supporting cast did a great job, with honorable mentions for Yang Kyung Won (sergeant Pyo Chi Su who speaks North Korean to a T according to North Korean defector Kang Nara) and Bang Eun Jin playing the emotionally scarred mother of Se Ri.

The Music

So, nosotros've got our story and the right actors, but the soundtrack is the cherry on top. No surprise this soundtrack leads the Top 10 of most downloaded OST's of ALL Time at the moment I'm writing this review.

Rewatch

Sometimes I can forget a story as presently as the clue has been reached, but I recall I will definitely rewatch this drama. There are many layers in the episodes that deserve a re-run.

Verdict

Overall, if you haven't seen this already, become watch it, and get in line with others who are longing for The Sequel.

A Recital Of Beloved, Thrills, Action, Laughs🌪And Then Many Tears. Stay Hydrated *Superior*

Look what the tornado dragged in.

Here's an effort to acknowledge the arts and crafts that went into CLOY while gliding around any spoilers.

Some of the themes are:

🍫The pregnant of true family unit {Who said this🤔?: "That's why I never go to Olive Garden- They treat you lot like family unit" "True family" is not about DNA. It illustrates the highest ideals: Loving, providing, protecting, happy over the good stuff, & distressed over the bad stuff life brings to our loved ones.}

🍫Survival in an oppressive, despotic situation

🍫Survival in a wealthy, greedy, dear-starved, viper pit of a family

🍫Misery, dearest, loneliness, & warmth are often w/o respect to wealth or social status

🍫Overcoming fear in order to do correct

🍫Politics won't beget love

🍫Korean women sure practice love a alpine human being with broad shoulders. (& don't we all?)

🦅Visual Metaphors🦅 In CLOY's very offset shot, there's a hawk gliding higher up the valley. It'due south emblematic of freedom, but too taking to the skies. Hawks are always looking to swoop downwardly & catch prey. Is Se-ri a hawk, not a eat? Hmm. Ri's got the🔫, simply is he the prey?

When Se-ri fails to exit NK, Ri loses his temper, so She exits the room. Next, Ri overhears how Se-ri bravely saved his life, & has been nonstop😭. As he ponders this, we hear the rain titit'tat↗⚡↔ 📢CrrAAckk⚡🔊〰 Nosotros tin ❇hear it on his confront: "Oh, no. I'thousand in trouble."

🏚Visual Contrasting & Crisp Editing⛪ The church/phony prayer scene contrasts with the NK villagers, who seem sincere about their behavior re their country & the outside world. (Compartmentalization?) Liberty & prosperity engendered greed, twisting the faith of the SKs. The message isn't about who's ameliorate. It'south, rather, a c⚠ution for those of us living in wealthy countries. It's a reminder that it isn't poverty or politics that degrades a person'southward humanity as much as one poor selection subsequently another does.

In Ep4 we get from the 🔥warm clambake in rural NK, to ane of SK'due south most lavish domiciles, where family is plotted round the tabular array in 🌬ice cold scorn. What is the outset true family feel that Se-ri has e'er had, I wonder?

They just hadda put the villain in that creepy, over-compensating, chapeau. The director & writer even manage to humanize bad guy Cheon Su-bok. We can experience the pain in his gasping voice as he recounts that he was an orphan with zilch. It'southward juxtaposed with the two orphans that appear in the show. These adorable children are in danger of walking his path.

🌆The opulence of Pyongyang is grotesque against the debasement of the little village. Children are starving, & people are struggling to alive up to peasants' standards. Allow's non guess well-nigh the ominous absence of whatever cats or dogs in the village.

🏓Wordplay🏓 One of the soldiers is playing video games at the internet café. We see him type: "I request an alliance." Cute.

🦅 vs Swallow

Type is used in more ways than one. They each know what~ ✳WHO✳ rather, their 'type' is.

Did Se-ri crash, fall, drop, or descend? My vote: swooped✅.

Se-ri talks about Ri feeling 'pressured.' Given their then tense state of affairs, the way she uses the word is high comedy.

Se-ri sleepily mumbles it's the "liking" that's giving her a headache. Does she mean liking the idea of going home, or is she liking her head on his much coveted shoulder?

🤹Repeated Words & Themes For Impact & Foreshadowing🤹 Was it,.,. Is information technology〰 Des↙T↘inY? That discussion descends similar🌨 over the unabridged series, along with: meant t❄ be... It must be fate... Over again❄ again it's destiny.

The word 'bodyguard' dutifully works shifts. Ri bristles when he first hears information technology, only he had been doing the pedal work already anyway.

Including 'Babysitter,' over& over we hear: "That'southward just like a 📽," or "This isn't a 📽, that won't work," or "This is just like a 📺 from the South." A soldier obsessed with SK amusement was able to explain or predict ❇anything based on what he learned by watching 📺 on the outpost's 💻. "The dramas in the Due south always {__X__}." Kim Ju-meok calls 10 right every time (esp with the shoutout: "Fifty💘verboy"). That gag never gets former. He was making connections betwixt Ri+Se-ri+dramas almost immediately, to Ri'due south unease. Information technology strikes a chord with Kdrama fans.

😐Ri: 'I'm okay'.

😔Se-ri: 'You e'er say that' 😌... If nothing else, Ri is consistently on tempo.

🔄Reciprocity🔃 They play Cloy on the black & white 🎹. The series has a prototype shift in the 2nd half, treating united states of america to a tour, or review, of everything Ri did for Se-ri from a new perspective. 🔇❕ 🚫spoiler order in effect. We don't know who is👂.

💓🦋They Understand Romance. These 2 are keyed into each other. The manner he looks at her really is wistful. She knows when he'south feigning sleep, even when his comrades don't. Each tries to plow pages for the other; each looks to protect the other. Later, protectee will yell at protector for exposing h/hself to danger. Their deportment, over the course of the show, mirror eachother similar base & treble. Early, however, they only can't read each other'south sheet music. Watching each of them struggling to understand the other is hilarious. He's commonly at a loss over her fine distinctions. In one case each of them pronounces "10 overnice words," the contrasts get manifest. Afterall, cute harmony comes from complimentary keys, not compatible ones.

😶The grim discipline that Ri has practiced in contempo years is palpable. He admits he's resigned to never wait happiness. The just tell that he's getting worked up is some moderate fist clenching. Early on, it's difficult to imagine him striking the wrong key: He isn't 1 for breaking the rules or crossing the line🚧. He seems so stogy that information technology virtually shocks when, like an eagle, he, soars into immediate & decisive activity at precisely the right moment. We are treated to his silent frustration every bit well as confusion over the descending realization that the rule-breaking may never end, now.

His concluding of the '10 overnice words' is the 1st pace in his healing.

🎭Hyun Bin's acting every bit CPT Ri, is prodigy level. When Se-ri declares that Park Kwang-beom is the about handsome one of them "past any criteria," Ri has subtle, but articulate, disappointment on his face. When he sees the patch on his uniform, ane corner of his mouth twitches upward, & his eyes soften. His command of expression is virtuoso. He'southward a Kpop idol fo-sho.

Son Ye-jin is also infrequent as the loquacious Se-ri. She had 💯 lines to larn for every 1 Hyun Bin did:)

🔗The show used consultants from North 'OZ' to ensure accurateness. This series provides a glimpse of the deficiencies and documented wretchedness, only also the humanity.

😷The system in NK is suffocating. Like to Se-ri's family, everything is based on currying favor with superiors. Equally demonstrated, information technology extinguishes love & deceny. When Sr COL Kim was arrested, the ladies of the village were terrified to exist seen helping his wife out, lest they get ❇arrested(⁉) as well. Even families are encouraged to turn each other in (or face prosecution). We see a male parent whose son almost died, but all he worries about is his position. It must be noted that Jun Gook-hwan is perfect as a stern father & unflappable official.

The 🚑 has cypher in it. It's just a hollowed out 🚐. The hospitals don't have claret for transfusions. Even Pyongyang suffers multi-hour rolling blackouts. Supplies are deficient but there'south never a shortage of piddling bullycrats demanding to run into IDs.

📑In that location's such a profusion of rules, regulations, & records that ❇everyone is guilty. They tin get you lot when they want to. As well actual dominion-breaking, is the institutionalized corruption, such as when Ri was brought in for questioning & was told that he's guilty of whatever they ☑say he's guilty of. Human life is not cheap there, it's dispensable.

🚻Clearly, Ri's begetter toughened him upwards. Ri'southward mother, who is obviously loving, is the driver of the finer parts of his nature. Ri & his brother, Mu, exhibit exemplary qualities, such every bit respect, integrity, loyalty & kindness. His unit of measurement reflects his example. He'due south a natural leader. (They bungled their directives on the day Se-ri arrived, just that was destined).

🛂Nonetheless, as restrictive equally Ri's upbringing patently was, Se-ri's was fifty-fifty more 🎢dysfunctional. Both of them are from influencial families, notwithstanding hers, with all the liberty, is worse than his. Despite the odds, the NK siblings in Cloy are more than loving than the SK ones. Nosotros need to be enlightened that liberty can corrupt u.s. if we permit it.

🌞Se-ri, being her expansive cocky, was able to brighten the lives of the people she met in NK with her amuse & skills. She even turned a committed Commie into a metrosexual with a bottle of shampoo! Skills, indeed. It's darling to run across this little group form a true family.

💴Gotta love that budget. The special effects for the tornado are fabled. We are treated to no less than 3 paraglides in the 🗻, all breathtaking. The second paraglide scene is esp gripping.

When ⚡activeness is called for, they come correct. One scene is a shootout betwixt a 🏍 & 2 armored 🚛. They practiced restraint, which boosted the realism. It took 7 or 8 shots to blow up the gas tank later on laying down the cycle. No magic bullets here. The consequence played out better than a typical action characteristic. That.scene.is.straight.badass! 🎼segue into theme music🎶What a homo, What a man, What a man🎶🎶 Sing it, Salt n Peppa❕😜

💖CLOY has something for all the senses: visual delights, a lovely soundtrack, the taste of fresh roasted corn, clams, & Soju (I could taste it), the pilus that smells like flowers, & the feel of tears on our cheeks.

Watch it and sigh, express joy, & (southward)whoop.

Sentinel it & weep.

No biting thru that🍫wrapper!

And retrieve, nothing comforts afterwards a expert cry like a creamy cup of Hot Swiss🍵Cocoa.

I'chiliad in love

Fabulous beloved story. Yes it has all of the cliches of a Thousand-drama with a adult female and homo, first disliking each other than falling in honey, an evil and dysfunctional. Chaebol family, a jealous girlfriend only it is gear up in a most uncliched location, Northward Korea. Lots of action, laughter, intrigue and thrills. Hyun Bin is to die for as the intelligent, handsome, upright North Korean soldier. Son Ye Jin is the whip smart, beautiful chaebol daughter. Watching them come together is a joy to scout.

And then skilful I want to cry

What makes this KD different from other KDs? i. They used older actors which IMO are better in acting. Hyun Bin & Son Ye Jin are definitely the best choice for RJH & YSR character. The chemistry are inevitable! 2. The story is flawless and not tiresome. There'southward a speck of love story, comedy, and activeness in one KD. What not to dear? iii. Beautiful sceneries. Omo. 4. Everything makes sense. No stupid magic or ghosts whatever.

Instant Classic, an Accented Masterpiece

I finally finished it, sixteen episodes and more than 20 hours of total running time. I'm non a fan of Korean Telenovelas, but I decided to requite this 1 a effort because of all the hype and too I thought that anything related to North korea should be interesting.

And it turned out to be quite an amazing serial. In fact the hardest thing I had to practise was resist watching the side by side episode because once you start watching it, it'due south pretty hard to terminate.

I think the Due north Korean setting is what makes this series unique and great, and also what kept me going thru some cheesy scenes (this is, after all, a Soap Opera). The setting bought the viewers to an exotic, new place with strange community, and at the same time allowed the "Fish Out of Water" Plot Device on both sides of Korea (a minor spoiler in that location).

Aside from that the series is too very well made in terms of Script and Plot Twists. Information technology initially starts out equally a Romantic Comedy with incredibly witty, you-volition-autumn-out-of-your-chair-laughing dialogue, and eventually evolves into a Lather Opera Thriller towards the middle of the flavour with clever Cliffhangers at the end of each Episode.

The pacing is fast, there are ever a lot of things happening onscreen, and the Cinematography is amazing, particularly the scenes in Switzerland which made the place nigh look like heaven.

My only reservation is that is a flake cheesy at times as I mentioned earlier, and too a scrap too wholesome for me, which made it feel a scrap too unreal at times. I mean, no-tongue kisses, really?

And no sex, despite all those gorgeous people sleeping around in each other's apartments? I recollect they only wanted the serial to be every bit adequate for every bit broad an audition as possible.

Despite that, overall I would say that this is no ordinary series, it is much better than much of what I have seen on Netflix and then far. I think it is an Instant Classic, a Masterpiece that must be seen. Truly outstanding.

Ane of the all-time romance/comedy/dramas ever!!!

Yep this production actually is THAT proficient! I tin can't even telephone call it a serial considering it's more like an amazing group of consecutive films. My mom and I binged this in 3-4 days, missing lots of sleep because we could not stop watching. Nosotros HAD to keep going, information technology wasn't fifty-fifty a choice. I'll have to admit, this was my first Korean romance series! We needed a intermission from the tense political news & wanted to watch something we could escape to. After the outset episode, I was non certain what to retrieve as it was a flake irksome. But after that first episode, things selection upward and completely submerse you. It'due south everything all wrapped upward into 1: romance, drama, thriller, suspense, one-act. The acting is so amazing!!!! I'chiliad in awe of this wonderful production. I laughed in the beginning & middle, while I cried and gasped in the last half. Lookout man all the manner until the end, yous'll dearest it! It's an intense journey of love, family, cultural difference, friendship and community. I'm praying and PRAYING for a season two!!

Democratic people's republic of korea and South Korea

Warning: Spoilers

I loved this drama. All 4 chief characters are astonishing - Ri, Se-ri, Seo Dan, Gu.

The only thing that is unbearable is that Gu dies.

I loved the vibes and dynamics betwixt the characters; Dan's cute outfits; Se-ri'southward fashion sense and at the end of the last episode, her classic outfits that await perfect; Ri's devotion, kindness, principles. I loved Gu'south gentlemanly mannerisms and charms. I was swooning over him.

I hope to find a love every bit stiff as amongst these characters 1 day that volition last forever.
